Information about the National Settlement Depository
The National Settlement Depository (NSD) has the status of a central depository **, is a member of the "Moscow Exchange Group".
NSD was established on June 27, 1996. The total value of assets in custody in NCO JSC NSD on March 31, 2018 reached 41.7 trillion rubles. NSD is recognized by the Bank of Russia as a systemically significant settlement depository and a systemically important repository. NSD conducts all stock exchange calculations and most of the off-exchange settlements, serves both Russian and foreign securities. Moreover, NSD has accounts with central depositories and international clearing and settlement centers in 8 countries, as well as correspondent accounts with a number of major foreign and Russian banks. NSD is servicing securities of issuers from more than 40 countries. The NSD was assigned a central depository rating at AA-, according to the international rating agency of Thomas Murray.
