The winners of the financial Olympiad FinOlimp were determined
The finale of the first financial Olympiad FinOlimp-2019 in Kyrgyzstan for students of economic universities and young professionals under 23 years old was held on April 21 at the Orion Hotel. The general partner of the event was the Bank of Asia, the ideological inspirer - Almaz Edilbayev, the organizers - PRO KG professional club and the Good Solutions Group.
Participation in the competition for students is, above all, invaluable experience, new knowledge and great opportunity to get a desired job. The winners were the strongest, but each participant undoubtedly had gained practical knowledge necessary not only in the profession of financier, but also in everyday life.
The main goal of the Olympiad is to popularize financial education in order to form a comprehensively developed new generation, designed to solve the economic and social problems of society. "Bank of Asia" helped to identify talented students and youth, supported them financially, helped in employment and internships.
"The main problem in the country is that higher education institutions graduate specialists, and 70-80% of them cannot find work and, consequently, go abroad. At the same time, the employers complain that there are no good staff. Such events help to remove this barrier "- Eldar Abakirov, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted in his welcoming speech.
Recall that the Olympiad was divided into three rounds: the first and second - testing, training and master classes, which took place earlier in major universities in Bishkek. In the third and final round, Bank of Asia employees prepared a special case for the finalists, where the main task was to achieve the maximum profit for a certain period by optimizing the loan portfolio. The jury assessed not only the indicator of profit, but also the ability of the guys to work smoothly in a team, their presentation and the chosen strategy.
“The beauty of case studies is that they are closer to life. When you sit in a class and learn theory, this is one thing. And when you start to solve specific tasks, this is another. The case is the tool that brings theory closer to practice,” noted one of jury members, Azamat Ibraimov - leading banker of the Eurasian Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
All 5 teams successfully coped with the task, in some cases, showing not only their knowledge, but also a non-standard approach to solving cases. Despite the fact that the Olympiad was designed for students between the ages of 18 and 23, among the finalists were also young 17-year-old and 16-year-old talents who were awarded with individual prizes.
The winning team received a top prize of $ 500 from the Bank of Asia, commemorative medals and diplomas, certificates for free opening of VISA GOLD cards with free annual service, as well as beautiful souvenirs. In general, all 25 finalists did not leave without gifts, and the most active during the Olympiad were encouraged with special letters and presents.
"Of course, cash and other prizes are a good incentive for children to participate in the Olympiad, but we believe that participation itself is the best contribution to their education and in the near future. And, as you know, educated youth are educated and economically developed Kyrgyzstan “We are committed to this. Understanding the importance of this issue, we have undertaken to conduct trainings and cover all expenses of the Olympiad for ourselves,” concluded Vladislav Ten, Business Development Director of Bank of Asia.
