"Bank of Asia" CJSC supported the STEAM IDEATHON event and the final of the Technovation Girls Challenge projects
On June 17, the STEAM IDEATHON event and the final of the Technovation Girls Challenge Kyrgyzstan projects were held. Technovation Girls Challenge 2021 is a free program for girls from 10 to 18 years old, where they learned to solve a socially significant problem in their community and country, creating a mobile app with the help of mentors for 12 weeks. 17 teams of girls aged 12 to 18 from almost all regions of Kyrgyzstan presented their ideas to a competent jury in 7 categories: innovations in social entrepreneurship; green initiatives; youth activism and engagement; empowering girls and women; initiatives for cities and communities; solutions to improve health; potential for growth.
The head of the Business Development Department, Nurmira Esenalieva, joined the jury, praising the teams for a sufficiently high level of training, teamwork, as well as interesting technology concepts that solve the socio-economic problems of their communities.
The "Domino" team received a special prize from the bank. The team members presented an application that teaches teenagers and adults how to take care of the Planet and sort garbage using videos. “Within the framework of corporate and social responsibility, our bank tries to pay special attention to environmental projects, because right now, it is necessary to think about preserving the environment for the future generation. Therefore, the idea of the application and the values of the team were very much liked."- said Nurmira Esenalieva.
